Abstract

22,750. Massey, S. W. Oct. 5. Cutting slices in succession. - Vegetables &c. are contained in bottomless cups 24 adjustably mounted in slots in a rotatable disk 16, and are sliced by curved knives 12 which are adjustably mounted in slots 9 in a plate 7 secured to a stand 6. The knife 12, Fig. 3, is secured to the horizontal part 10<1> of a flange 10 by a bolt 11, being clamped in the adjusted position by a nut 13. The plate 16 is rotated from the hand-wheel 18 and is supported by idle rollers 21 mounted on the plate 7. Smaller cups 29, Fig. 4, may be inserted inside the larger cups 24 and are held in position by spring plates 30 provided with arms 31, which are secured to the cups 29 and have flanges 32 to engage the cups 24, as shown.
