Abstract

10,153. Milne, S. April 24. Vertical - cutter type for cutting sheet material in direction of feed.-The upper cutter in paper-slitting machines is mounted so that vertical adjustments can be made without twisting it, and horizontal angular adjustments can be made without interfering with the vertical adjustment. The cutter comprises a disk a mounted in conical bearings in a fork d, the stem b of which is slidable in a tube g secured in a fixed holder f. A screw e supports the fork d and effects its vertical adjustment. The stem b and the tube g have engaging flat surfaces which prevent relative rotation, and a stud i projecting from the tube is engaged by two screws j', j<2> by which the angular adjustment of the cutter is effected. The tube g is clamped in the holder f by a screw h.
