Abstract

1242. Sharp, F. C. Jan. 26. Vertical - cutter type for cutting sheet material in direction of feed. - In a rotarycutter arc-shearing machine, the grippers f which hold the sheet to be operated on can be adjusted relatively to the pivot d<4> about which the sheet turns. The rotary cutters are carried by a fixed frame c and may have a second pair of cutters x adjustablv secured on their spindles c<2>. The cutters x are made in halves and secured as shown in Fig. 3 for easy removal. The grippers f are closed against springs f<4> by a cam-plate f<5>, and are mounted on a slide g adjustable on its support e by a rack and pinion i and locked by a screw clamp m. The movement may be indicated by a suitable scale. The support e is pivoted on a slide d which can be adjustable by a hand-operated screw d<2>.
