Making paper and like boxes.-In scoring or grooving cardboard and the like for the manufacture of cardboard boxes &c., the scoring-disc a is mounted as shown in Figs. 2 and 4. The disc is carried on a boss a, Fig. 4, being fixed between a flange a' and a ring a<3>. It is secured to a spindle b, Fig. 2, carried eccentrically on a spindle c which moves longitudinally in a bearing d, so that the cutter can be moved to and from the edge e of the table f according to the position of the scoring- line. The spindle c is adapted to be rotated by worm-gearing l, k to regulate the depth of the scoring. The bracket d, which may be slid by hand or by power to effect the scoring, has extensions, as shown, extending between the table f and frame m to prevent twisting.
