Abstract

20,415. Dickson, W. A., and Dickson, J. Sept. 7. S a f e t y - v a l v e s . - A spring-loaded safetyvalve has a lift valve member C provided with a balancing-piston D on the inlet side. The back of the valve member is provided with a packing surface N adapted to engage a corresponding surface G on the casing to prevent outlet pressure from acting on the back of the valve member when the valve is open. The balancing- piston is rendered fluidtight in the closed position of the valve by means of a flexible dish F on the piston D engaging a seating on the casing. In the form described in the Provisional Specification the packing-surfaces are omitted.
