Abstract

276,890. Arnott, E. H. March 2, 1927. Seats. - A rotary valve having a conical, cylindrical or curved face particularly applicable for use on heat engines, compressors and the like has the seat fitted with a sealing w,asher 1 housed in a recess 3 in a liner 4 or in the casing. The washer which may be a steel pressing has a port corresponding to the valve ports and is formed with lips adapted to be pressed by the fluid pressure against the valve member and the sides of the housing recess respectively. The washer may be formed to a slightly different curvature to the valve member and a filling ring may be inserted in the space 8.
