Abstract
302,834. Dean, H. P., and Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd. Feb. 17, 1928. Seats. - In a high-pressure valve having a replaceable valve seat 8 which junctions also as a seal between two parts 3, 9 of the valve casing, the sealing surfaces a, b of the member 8 are convex and engage plane surfaces on the parts 3, 9. The member 8 is made of hard metal or alloy. The valve stem 2 is provided with a cup-shaped extremity 5 carrying a loose head 6 retained by a divided screwed collar 7. The valve may, as shown, be hand-actuated, or may be actuated by pressure fluid as described in Specification 258,198. Specification 249,001, [Class 122 (iii), Steam-engines, Kinds &c.], also is referred to.
