Water-tube boilers. - In boilers comprising front and rear upper drums connected to each other by steam and water tubes, and to a lower drum by water tubes, the rear drum being connected by steam-tubes to an intermediate drum, the intermediate drum is utilised in known fashion as the upper drum of a superheater consisting of upper and lower drums connected by tubes, it being possible to utilize the superheater as part of the boiler. The upper drums 2, 4 are connected to each other by steamtubes 11 and water-tubes 10, and to a lower drum 5 by water-tubes 8, 7. The drum 4 is connected by steam-tubes 12 to a drum 3, which is connected by tubes 9 to a drum 6. The drum 3 is divided by a transverse partition separating the tubes 12 from the steam outlet. The drum 6 is connected to the drum 5 by a pipe 14 provided with a valve, so that the superheater can be flooded and used as part of the boiler.
