Abstract

655. Hudson, T. Jan. 9. Composite boilers.-In boilers of the type described in Specification 6991/07 in which inclined tubes are arranged in the side flues of cylindrical boilers, the tubes A are connected to front and back water-boxes B, B<1> having removable fronts b, b'. The front boxes B and the boiler C are connected at the front to an horizontal mud drum C' by pipes c<2>, c<3>, c. The rear boxes B' are connected by a pipe D having a tee-connexion d to the boiler below the water - level. Inclined pipes E, E<1> connect the tops of the boxes to the steamspace of the boiler. In a modification, the back boxes may be connected to a water-drum having pipe connexions to the steam and water spaces of the boiler.
