Abstract
5024. Testrup, N., and Rigby, T. Feb. 28. Materials for making gas.-In the operation of gas-producers, especially those adapted for ammonia recovery, the charge consists of a mixture of press-cake material of wet-carbonized peat with briquettes made therefrom, or with such briquettes after coking. The peat is wetcarbonized by processes such as are referred to in Specifications 10,834/03, 6041/10, [both in Class 50, Fuel, Manufacture of], 4684/11, and 17,610/11, and the mixture has an average moisture content of about 55 per cent. The Provisional Specification states also that coke, charcoal, or lignite may be mixed with the press cake material, and that sewage press-cake, obtained according to the process described in Specification 3247/11 may be employed instead of wet carbonized peat press-cake. Specification 12,010/09, [Class 50, Fuel, Manufacture of], is also referred to.
