Abstract

28,551. Grove, J. Dec. 19. Spray carburettors.-A nozzle i is situated within a vertically-movable choke-tube a as described in Specification 30,252/10. The invention consists in providing the nozzle with a valve or valves adjustable from outside the carburettor, and in making the choke-tube a interchangeable so as to adapt the carburettor to engines of different power. The nozzle has a valve q adjusted by a milled head r to regulate orifices k at the top, and a valve q', adjusted by a milled head r<1>, for regulating the flow at the lower end. The valve q may be dispensed with. The nozzle is removed by unscrewing the collar t. The choke-tube a, which is screwed to the movable member b, is shown tapered throughout its length, but may be parallel with a sudden short taper near the fuel nozzle. Notches w are formed in the lower edge of the choke-tube to admit air when the choke-tube is down. The notches may be replaced by holes in the lower part of the carburettor. The Specification gives approximate dimensions of choke - tube and nozzle for cylinders of various sizes.
