Abstract
6360. France, A. G. April 28. Spray carburettors.-In a carburettor in which the jet is situated in a choke tube or ring a secondary supply of air is delivered transversely across the top of the jet, immediately above it, and from one side thereof. The main air supply entering at b passes the nozzle a, and the secondary air supply is admitted through a tube f screwed into the carburettor casing and locked by a nut f<1>. The tube is provided with ports controlled by a tightlyfitting, but adjustable, ported sleeve f<3>. A scale may be provided to facilitate adjustment. In another form of carburettor, the main air supply enters by two lateral passages, and a butterflythrottle replaces the cylindrical throttle c shown in Fig. 1, which is prevented from closing entirely by the projecting end of the tube f. The Provisional Specification states also that the secondary air supply may be controlled by a ported ring fitting around the exterior of the usual air-supply passage.
