Abstract
23,779. Rushton, J. L. Oct. 27. Wire cards, grinding.-In a device of the kind described in Specification 17,146/04, [Class 120, Spinning], for rotating and traversing the grinding - rollers of carding - engines, the driven slotted sleeve 2 carrying the grinding- roller drives the double-threaded screw 3 for traversing the roller through bevel - gearing. The sleeve 2 and screw 3 are mounted at one end in a stationary box 10, within which is mounted a bevel-wheel 4 keyed to the shaft 2 and engaging an obliquely-set double bevel-wheel 5 mounted on a loose sleeve 6 keyed to the box 10 at 9. The double bevel also engages a bevelwheel 7 keyed to the screw 3. The box 10 and its contained gearing may be removed from the shafts.
