Abstract
15,046. Gordon, B. Dec. 12, 1914, [Convention date]. Carding- engines; feeding carding - engines; openers &c.-A machine for cleaning cotton fibre, which is particularly adapted for association with a carding - engine, comprises a licker-in roller 24, Fig. 1, working with mote knives 25 and stripped by a rotary brush 26, the fibres being drawn forward down the shoot 31 by suction to a collecting - means 30. The machine is shown as applied to a carding-engine and delivering the partly treated fibres to the usual feed-table 2, and licker-in 4, but it may be used independently. The collecting-means 30 comprises a cylindrical rotary screen 28, Fig. 2, and a stationary slotted drum 29, the interior of which is connected to the fan 35. A pair of revolving screens may be employed.
