Abstract

623,624. Combing textile fibres. AKT.-GES. J. J. RIETER & CIE. May 8, 1947, No. 12485. Convention date, Sept. 24, 1946. [Class 120 (i)] A comb cylinder for combing machines comprises a plain segment 2 and a needle segment 3, carrying a series of combs 4, carried by and fixed to the comb shaft 1. A bar 6 is secured to the plain segment 2 and is disposed on a rearward extension 5 of the segment 3. The bar 6 projects almost to the circular path 14 described by the rotating comb tips whilst the plain segment 2 is set back from the said path. The top nipper 7, bottom nipper 8 and feed roller 9 are of the usual known type. A circular brush 10 is arranged underneath the revolving cylinder for cleaning the combs. The object of the invention is to reduce wear of the cleaning brushes and at the same time the bar 6 provides a means for re-erecting and guiding the fringe A to the detaching rollers 12 after combing.
