Abstract
29,471. Metcalfe, A. W. Dec. 22. Heckling - machines.-The heckle sheets are driven through the medium of a differential gear to cause them to travel more quickly as the material approaches the teeth and more slowly as it is drawn through them The heckle sheets b, Fig. 1, are driven from the m a i n shaft d through the differential gear g comprising sun- and-planet gears. One element is controlled by a braking - strap s operated by the lifting motion. The e differential gear may comprise a pair of planet-wheels t, Fig. 4, carried by an arm oscillated through the lever k by an eccentric m on the lifting-motion shaft c. The heckle sheets may be brought to rest while the material is being withdrawn. Specifications 6059/00 and 9988/04 are referred to.
