Abstract

30,006. Campbell, J. Dec. 31. Burring-apparatus chiefly for use in connexion with carding-engines. The weighted top roller, which is driven by friction from the lower roller, is adapted to be raised without removing the weights by cams 2.5 loosely mounted upon the spindle 5 of the top roller 4. The cams bear on antifriction rollers 26 mounted on studs 27 in the frame, and are operated either by levers 28 connected by a cross-handle 29, or by worm or other suitable gearing. The movement of the cams 25 is limited by projections 30 at each end of the working portions.
