Abstract

372,614. Carding-engines. SHAW, H. D., Roundwood Grange, Baildon, and BOWER, S., 298, Barkerend Road, Bradford, both in Yorkshire. July 4, 1931, No. 19316. [Class 120 (i).] To reverse the drive of a woollen or worsted carding-engine for grinding, a gear unit is interposed between two adjacent machines and is arranged to reverse the drive of one machine when driven from the other. The unit comprises a shaft S carrying gear-wheels S<1>, S<2> adapted to engage gear-wheels W, W<1> on the shafts of the fourth lickers B<2>, B3 a wheel G being interposed on one side to obtain the necessary reversal.
