Friction gearing.-In a friction gear for converting oscillating into rotary motion, a pivoted sector-shaped lever a, which may be actuated by hand or otherwise, carries a segmental friction bar d through pivoted links c. The bar d, which may be provided with one or several ribs, is adapted to engage a grooved wheel e situated within the lever frame and on the driven shaft. The wheel is driven during the downward movement of the end g of the lever a, and driving- connexion between the bar and the wheel is broken during the upward movement of the end g.
