Abstract

14,491. Dugins, W. F. June 19. Movable-abutment type; valve-gear. - Three rotary abutments 45 are geared by means of pinions 40, 50 with a central rotor 38 having two vanes 42. The rotor 38 houses a pair of tubular cut-off valves controlled by levers 28, 32, one cut-off valve being used for admitting the motive fluid to the " go-ahead " ports 43, Figs. 9 and 10, the other supplying the " go-astern " ports 44. Two sets of tubular exhaust valves are housed in the casing ports 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and are connected by links to a common ring controlled by a reversing-lever 63. Auxiliary exhaust ports 3, 19 are provided in the endwalls of the casing communicating with ports 43A, 44<A> in the rotor 38. Specifications 1732/68, 1998/69, 16,622/00, and 16,464/02, describing engines of the same type, are referred to.
