5594. Cottam, G. H. March 6. Holders.-A circumferential groove or rib is provided on the holder for the reception of bayonet pins on a shade-ring. In the arrangement shown, a groove f communicating with vertical extensions of the usual bayonet slots, is adapted to receive two internal pins g on a shade-ring d, a stop i and two notches being provided in the groove to prevent accidental disengagement of the pins. In a modification, the ring is of spun metal flanged outwardly at the top. A spring washer may be provided for gripping shades of different thicknesses. According to the Provisional Specification, the holder may be slotted to receive pins on the shade ring, or vice versa; and a ring threaded on the holder between the union ring and the shade-ring may be clamped against the shade.
