585. Bennett, C. G. M. Jan. 9 Holders.-A ring is adapted to be screwed down on the outside of a shade and grip a sleeve surrounding the bayonet connexion between the lamp and the lamp - holder. In the form shown, a sleeve 1 of metal, wood, or china, arranged inside the shade and fitting loosely over the holder, has its lower edge bent inwards and provided with one or more pairs of diametrically opposite slots to pass the lamp pins 5. The bent-in edge is adapted to fit the lamp or the lamp-cap closely so that, after clamping, the lamp is locked. The sleeve may have an ornamental form.
