425. Girard. H. Jan. 7. Candles, imitation; bulbs; holders.-An e l e c t r i c candle-lamp is fitted with an independent glass sleeve, which is carried by a spring-supported washer. Fig. 1 shows a lampholder for use in an ordinary chandelier. A block of wood 1, fitted with springs 2 to hold it in the chandelier, is provided with a metal extension 12 upon which is screwed a socket 3 to receive a lamp. A spring 4 rests at one end on a flat washer 13 on the block 1, and at its other end bears against snugs or a shoulder projecting from the inner edge of a flanged washer 5. The glass sleeve 6 is held between the washer 5 and a shoulder on the bulb of the lamp. On an electrolier provided with bayocet lamp-holders, the lamp cap passes down through the lower washer 13, which is notched to pass the pins and rests on the top of the lamp-holder.
