A shade holder comprising a hollow cylindrical body portion, an inturned flange carried thereby at one end thereof and provided with a central aperture, an inturned upper flange and-a downwardly flaring flange carried by the lower end of said cylindrical portion, for supporting 'ashade, said body portion and upper flange being provided with a series of communicating slots, in combination with a series of elastic parts attached to said shade holder and hav ing depending globe supporting parts and slots. g ',Signed at New York city, N.
