Brake mechanism.-In brake mechanism for cycles, a bell-crank lever a is employed, having one arm b at the side of the frame and operated by a brake rod g, and the other arm d bent around the frame in the form of a loop. The lever a is pivoted to the tube e of the frame by means of a pin f which passes through the normal axis of the lever a and through the end of the bent arm d. The brake-tensioning rod k is connected to the bent arm d at or near its centre.
