Brakes.-A hollow thin metal clip for attaching roller operating-levers to cycle handle-bars is constructed by bending a shaped blank, Figs. 2 and 3, about the centre of its length until the webs h meet, the arms e being adapted to embrace the handle-bar at a central or other position and being attached thereto by means of a screw passing through the handle-bar. The opening formed between the bend and the ends of the webs forms a bearing for the roller lever, and, the parts h being caused to abut, the lever cannot be gripped when the clip is fastened to the handle-bar. A screw or projection is placed on the lever within the clip to limit the angular and endways motion of the lever. The clip may be drawn or pressed from the solid, as shown in Figs. 6 and 7, a slot m being provided to allow the projection to pass when placing the lever in position in the clip. When only one brake lever is used, one side only of the central bracket is pierced ; when two brake levers are used, the central bracket is made broader than usual and holds the ends of both the levers.
