Abstract

13,813. Gunstone, A. F. June 12. Spray carburettors.-Primary air entering a cylinder 2 by an opening 1 passes down a pipe 7 and over a fuel nozzle connected to a supply passage 19 at the bottom of the bend, thus producing a mixture, which passes up a pipe 12 to an outlet 15. The primary air and mixture are controlled simultaneously by pistons 3, 4 respectively on a rod 5 operated by hand or foot. The piston 4 is fixed on the rod 5, and the piston 3 is adjustable thereon by screwing. The piston 4 also controls auxiliary air inlets 16, which may be further controlled by a hand-adjusted shutter. The front chamber may be secured on either side of the carburettor by means of set-screws 20.
