Pressure-regulating valves; regulating discharge from valves.-A pressure-regulating valve consists of a float 2 which rises or falls under the influence of the gas pressure and controls openings 4 in a fixed cy inder 6. The inner cylinder 1 may be adjusted vertically so as to limit the movement of the float 2, and also rotated so as to alter the area of the gas passage through the ports 4, 5. The gas issuing from the cylinder 1 passes through passages 11, 13, and escapes to the burners through holes 16. A hand-operated rotatable sleeve 12 having ports 17 regulates the discharge from the passage 11. The regulator may also be adapted to inverted burners, in which case the inner cylinder 1 is provided with a bell to conduct the gas beneath the float 2.
