Abstract

7213. Schuppisser, H. April 14, 1904, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Pressure - regulating valves.-The air supply and gas supply are simultaneously regulated by a bell valve f slidably mounted on a pin h at the base of the mixing-tube. The valve f, on rising when the gas pressure increases, gradually loads itself with annular weights d resting normally in stepped grooves c in the gas-supply passage, and its upper end, by sliding over vertical upwardlytapering grooves in an enlarged part i of the rod h, gradually decreases the effective area for the passage of gas. The lower portion of the mixing-tube and the upper part of the valve are tapered at different angles, so that the rising of the bell also decreases the annular space through which the air passes.
