Abstract
190,783. Jackson, J. E. Evans-, (Takeuchi, T.). Sept. 23, 1921. Alternating - current motors.-The stator windings of a squirrel-cage induction motor are tapped and connected to a switch which at starting arranges them in " extended delta," as shown in full lines in Fig. 2, and for running regroups them in plain delta, as shown by dotted lines. The coils A<1>-A<3>, B<1>-B<3>, C<1>-C<3>, Fig. 1, are connected to the line by a threearm switch T and to a three-arm two-way controlling switch CS, intermediate points A<2>, B<2>, C<2> being tapped to one side of the switch C S, as shown, to give the starting connection.
