Abstract

Dec. 18, Blowpipe burners.-In apparatus for severing metals by fusion, the oxygen nozzle is arranged centrally within the burner nozzle and is capable of adjustment relative thereto. A mixture of combustible 'gases and oxygen is supplied into a tube 2, and oxygen at suitable pressure is supplied through a tube 3 which terminates in a nozzle' 4 provided with wings 5 coaxial with a removable outer burner 6. The position of the nozzle 4 can be adjusted, a stuffing-box- 7 being provided for that purpose.
