Blowpipe burners.- Fusing and brazing flames are produced by employing compressed combustible gas to draw from the atmosphere, through an injector provided with a mixing- chamber, the air required for producing the maximum flame temperature possible. In the burner shown, gas, supplied by the pipe 2, passes through a nozzle 7, which is seated in the fitting 4 and retained in position by webs 9, to a mixing-tube 5, into which air is drawn through openings 11, 10. Air-supply regulators may be fitted, different sizes of mixing-tube may be employed, and the character of the flame may be varied by using mouthpiece-nozzles of different bores and shapes. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 21,724/07.
