Abstract

190,536. Hindley, L. A. Sept. 22, 1921. Water-tube boilers.-An upper cylindrical steam and water chamber A is connected to a lower annular water chamber B by two groups of tubes, an outer group of inclined parallel tubes C concentric with the casing D, and an inner group of tubes C' inclined at different angles. The upper ends of the tubes C<1> are thus brought into intimate contact with the furnace gases, and the tubes support a large area of the bottom of the upper chamber against internal pressure. The groups of tubes are divided by a conical baffle D<1> having an outlet E at the back for the furnace gases.
