Trousers; belts; straps and bands.-Trousers or other garments are supported by elastic or spring bands, attached at their ends to buttons, hooks, or the like on the back parts of the trousers &c. The band a, Fig. 2, made in two parts joined by a buckle b to permit of adjustment, has loops c, by which it is attached to buttons d, and slits f through which pass other buttons g. Hooks m, Fig. 5, may also be stitched on the trousers &c. to prevent upward movement of the band. The modification shown in Fig. 3 has parts made of leather or like inelastic fabric joined by metal springs h. In another modification, shown in Fig. 4, the attaching loops are dispensed with. In Fig. 5 the band is shown provided with adjustable clamps or clips i, and the loops c attached to suitably-shaped pieces k through which the band passes. In a modification of this arrangement, the ends of the band are stitched to the garment and only one clip for adjustment is provided.
