15,155. Cook. W. H. Aug. 25. Cards, wire.-Relates to filleting which is specially applicable for the revolving flats of carding-engines. The wires are set in the foundation in such a manner that they are further apart on one side of the fillet than on the other. The distance apart of the teeth may vary gradually from one side of the fillet to the other, as shown in Figs. 3 and 4, or the fillet may be divided into sections or bands d, e, f, in which the distance apart of the teeth is uniform in any one section, but diminishes from band to band across the fillet. The fillet is so mounted on the flat that the coarser side first engages with the cotton &c. being carded.
