Sliver-rubbing apparatus. - The endless sliverrubbing bands of carding or combing machines, drawing-frames for preparing combed yarn, &c. are made of a fabric known as the " Liebermann " fabric which is composed of wire spirals intertwined as shown in Fig. 2. The fabric is arranged so that the axes of the spirals are parallel to those of the rollers driving the band. The spirals, of which suitable dimensions are given, are made of a somewhat large pitch to prevent the band from creeping along the rollers.
