Delivery, stopping.-In a cutting device for travelling threads or filaments which is actuated by excessive tension, the thread traverses a zigzig path over guide pulleys A, B, C, one of which C is carried by toggle levers F, G, or a curved spring and has fixed to is one end of a rod N the other end of which is attached to a cutter lever P. A spring M serves to keep the pulley raised during normal tension, but should the tension rise the pulley is depressed against the spring resistance, the reaction of which actuates the cutter lever P.
