Abstract

184,843. Skelley, J. M., Merson, J., and Continuous Reaction Co., Ltd. April 23, 1921. Alloys.-Ferro-tungsten and ferro-molybdenum are obtained by the exothermic reduction of ores or mixtures containing oxides of iron and of tungsten or molybdenum without the use of aluminium, the reducing-agent being silicon, which may be in the form of ferro-silicon, and an oxidizing agent such as sodium nitrate being added. The ores may be first purified and roasted. Specification 123,102 is referred to.
