Abstract
184,710. Wilson, W. A. Sept. 10, 1921. Hinges readily separable about hinge pin.-In casement windows opening inwardly and outwardly, pivots on the frame engage divided sockets in the sash, one part f of each socket, Fig. 3, being removable when the window is in position so that the window itself may be removed by sliding the pivots through slots b<2> in the sash. A casement stay consists of pivoted parts g and h the part g being pivoted to the bracket k on the window, Fig. 7, and a spring- pressed bolt p adapted to engage recesses &c. in the stay. To open the window inwardly, a screwed plug h<1> is removed from the rod h, the rod disengaged from the casing m which is then turned down on the hinged part out of the path of the window. To secure the parts g, h in alignment a tubular sleeve is provided to bridge the joint.
