Abstract

183,518. Rees, F. J. March 22, 1921. Vehicle windows. - The window sashes of road vehicles, particularly those with collapsable hoods, slide in fixed channel guides 1 provided with pivoted guides 7 to take the window in the closed position. The guides 7 are pivoted between plates 4 on the members 1 and butt thereon so as to lie horizontally in the folded position, the two pivots of each window being at different levels to allow the guides to lie one over the other when folded. The pivoted guides may have a pin- and-slot engagement with the plates 4. In completely closed vehicles, the guides 7 abut against the front and rear pillars 8<a>, 11, and in the middle of the vehicle against each other. A thumbscrew engaging the plates may be used to retain the hinged guides extended.
