Abstract

Locking while standing.-Comprises a locking- device for preventing theft of motor-cycles, in which an arm 1 pivoted at 5 to the steering-head, its other end being forked to engage the top tube of the frame, is provided with a spring-actuated locking-bolt 9, so that when the arm is depressed to engage the top tube, as shown in broken lines in Fig. 1, the end of the bolt presses flat against the steering-head and prevents the arm from being raised free of the top tube. When the bolt is fully extended, as shown in Fig. 5, it is locked in that position by a pin 11, which is turned either by hand or automatically by a spring. To release the pin 11, it is turned by means of a key-operated lock 16 until a flat face 12 on the pin aligns with a flat face 14 on the bolt 9. In a modification, the arm 1 is pivoted on one of the frame tubes, its other end engaging the steering-head or a part fixed thereto.
