Abstract

Safes and strong-rooms. -Relates to safes of the kind that comprise a series of safes or boxes mounted within a strong-room or large safe, and consists in employing vertical and horizontal members having notches and projections which register with each other to form the framework of the safe. Figs. 1 and 3 show the assembled safe; the notched bars a, m interlock and are secured to the back plate b by bolts e in the distance sleeves d, as shown in a detail view of one compartment in Fig. 5. The side plates c and base-plate m<1> fit into grooves in the cylindrical sleeve d and in the plates h, which have concave surfaces h<1> adapted to be compressed against the parts a, b when the bolt e is tightened. The base plate m<1> is secured to the member m by screws m<2>. A door n is hinged at n<1>, means being provided for the exact positioning of the door. The Provisional Specification mentions the securing of the bolt e to the plate b by welding.
