Abstract

189,667. Roberts, T. J. E. Dec. 16, 1921. Mouldboards. - A plough mouldboard is mounted on a backing frame secured to or integral with the plough body. In the form shown the backing frames b, which is substantially the same in configuration as the mouldboard a, is of skeleton form having cross-pieces c over which off-set lugs d, secured to the mould board a, engage. The engaging faces of both the lugs and the cross-pieces are bevelled and they are wedged firmly against each other by the action of a lever-operated cam-member g on the frame engaging a stop or other suitable device on the mouldboard. A cam device may be utilized for freeing the mouldboard from the frame. Lugs f on the cross-pieces prevent vertical movement of the mouldboard. The frame b, c is secured to the plough frame k by a bolt n, and by a bracket o which carries a breast-stay q attached to the cross-pieces c by a member s. The frame b, c may be in two or more parts bolted together so that when worn one part only need be replaced.
