Abstract
182,114. Brõuer, R. June 20, 1921, [Convention date]. Addition to 181,721. Safes.-Safes made up of removable blocks and rings of masonry as described in the parent Specification are formed with several compartments by combining several such safes into one whole. Figs. 1 and 2 illustrate two such safes superposed and formed into one safe. The base-slab a is formed with shoulders to position the inner rings of reinforced masonry b of both top and bottom compartments. The outer rings of masonry c surround both compartments. The usual front frame d completes the walls. The metal frame g carrying the doors h and secured to the inner metal boxes f, clamps the frames and rings together when the plates e are screwed down to the bolts i. The boxes f may be replaced by straps for clamping the frame g to the bolts i. Fig. 7 shows a compound safe with four compartments. The safes cannot be dismantled for ease in transporting their component blocks until the nuts on the bolts i, inside the safe compartments, have been removed. The Specification, in the original form as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a statement that a row of complete single safes may be joined together by bolts such as i embedded in the abutting walls of adjacent safes and accessible only from the insides of the safes. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
