Corner joints; boxes of skeleton formation.-A crate for holding metal plates &c. comprises a number of channel-shaped bars 1, Fig. 1, which overlap at the corners, where they are slit to form keyways for keys 4, as shown, or keys such as 7, Fig. 4, the ends of the keys being suitably clinched over. Additional transverse strengthening-bars such as 12 similarly secured to two opposite channelled bars by keys, may be employed in large crates.
