Abstract

1,068,405. Engines &c. COUNTY COMMERCIAL CARS Ltd., G.E.E. TAPP and J. DAVEY. March 23, 1966 [July 2, 1965] No. 28193/65. Heading F1B. [Also in Division F2] A gear-box and engine casing 12, 11 having non-registering holes for the usual attaching screws or bolts, are secured together by attaching an adaptor plate 14, 15 to each casing 11, 12, and then securing the plates 14, 15 together by bolts 26. The plates 14, 15 are attached to the casings 11, 12, by screws 18, 21, screwing into the already provided holes in the casings, the heads 19, 22, of the screws seating in countersunk recesses 20, 23 in the plates. Alternatively where the parts 11, 12, are projections or flanges, the plates may be secured thereto by bolts.
