Abstract
597,058. Securing lids. DINGWALL, T. E., and YATES, D.C. July 11, 1945, No. 17754. [Class 18] [Also in Group XXV] Lids are secured to cases by means of anchor nuts 9, mounted with float in cages 10 spot welded to angle plates 2, and received in recesses 12 in the walls of the case. The plates 2 are secured to the cases by a number of woodscrews 6. Plates 15 similarly secured to the lids are preferably dimpled to receive the heads of bolts 18 loosely mounted in the plates. In a modification the plates 2 extend on both sides of the case and are secured by through bolts. The bolts are retained in the plates by swaging the shanks at 19 to form projecting stops 20.
