Abstract

268,713. Oshkosh Trunk Co., (Assignees of Meyer, F. W.). April 2, 1926, [Convention date]. Multiple fastenings for wardrobe trunks. - A wardrobe trunk which stands on one end for use is divided into two compartments 1, 2. Full length doors 7, 17 for the compartments are arranged at right angles, hinging about vertical edges, and are simultaneously locked by mechanism mounted behind the narrow front face 4<a> of the trunk. The looking mechanism comprises interconnected hooks 32, Fig. 7, which can be rotated to engage lugs 35 on the door 17. Bars 24 connect these hooks and are also connected to a pair of bolts 35 which engage socketed tongues 39 carried by the door 7. A rotatable hasp 28 constitutes the operating means for both sets of fastenings, and when these are engaged the hasp lies horizontally and can engage and be locked in a socket 30 on the door 17.
