Abstract
332,663. Mills, C. T. H. May 8, 1929. Joints.-The inner and outer box fittings of a bedstead corner lock construction are both pressed from sheet steel blanks and are secured together by means of a thumb screw mounted on a bolt. Both fittings are also adapted to receive a dowel pin. The outer fitting is bent as shown in Fig. 4, and secured to the best post, the platform 9 which carries the spacing strip 8 being bent from the right or left wing of the blank according as it is designed for use with a left or right hand bed post. The inner box fitting is bent as shown in Fig. 10 and is secured to the wooden side rail 28 by a bolt 19 and screws 14. The fittings are assembled as shown in Fig. 11, a hole in the inner box fitting engaging the head of a dowel pin 33 passing through the back strip 3 of the outer fitting, whilst a bolt fitted with a thumb screw is passed through holes 6, 13 and 7, the hole 6 being made square to prevent the bolt revolving. The device may be adapted for use with brass bed posts.
