Abstract

180,965. Stamp, R. A. Oct. 21, 1921. Man-hole doors.-A man-hole cover comprises an oblong plate 1 with a stepped edge 2 which engages beneath the edge 3 of the man-hole so that the surface of the cover is flush with tha surface in which the opening is formed. Conicalheaded screws 8, are countersunk into holes in the edge of the man-hole opening and screwed into the stepped edge of the cover, a packing-ring 7 of rubber or the like being provided. A bar 12, welded at its ends to the cover is arranged flush with the surface in a recess 11.
